The Complete Player Pathway forged by new Alliance

The Cali Rise, a new elite soccer team in Northern California, announced today the launch of its platform for top youth players. The Cali Rise is the result of a partnership between Livermore Fusion Soccer Club and East County Revolution FC, two successful youth soccer clubs in California.

The Cali Rise will field boys and girls teams from U13 to U19. Each club will represent 3 age group teams from players within their own club. Revolution representing at U13-U15-U17 and Livermore Fusion players U14-U16-U19. Teams will compete in the Development Player League for the Girls, and the Elite Academy for the Boys. Players will also have opportunities to play in the USL Academy, a pathway to pro with the Oakland Roots, and UPSL men’s league.

"The elite platforms provide the players with additional opportunities to showcase themself, increase college exposure, play with other elite minded players and complete the player pathway from a recreational to college or professional player," said Ben Graham, Executive Director of Livermore Fusion SC.

"We want to create a comprehensive program that helps players improve their skills, gain valuable experience, build their confidence, and pursue opportunities to play at the next level," said Tom Ginocchio, Director of Coaching, at East County Revolution FC. "Cali Rise will open doors for youth players in the region and help them achieve their goals,” he added.

Teams will be selected and coached by each clubs Technical Leaders, some of the best educators and licensed coaches in the region. The inaugural season starts August 2024 and tryouts are being held this May for both clubs.

Players must be part of the clubs to have the opportunity to play for Cali Rise.

    Revolution FC EA/DPL Information

    2013 - 2008 Blue Families,

We look forward to our upcoming season of soccer which will include participation for our club in Norcal Premier Soccer, ECNL-RL, State Cup, Tournaments, and the recently added participation in the Elite Academy (Boys) and Development Player League (Girls).   Attached is a document that provides information about our participation in both the EA and DPL, and below are answers to some questions.

Please know that we, the Directors, are also learning as we go through this process and the information provided may (and can) change as we learn more.   With all our playing opportunities, throughout the year, all our Revolution FC players will have many opportunities to play games and to grow/develop.

    Q&A:

How does the partnership with Livermore Fusion work?    The EA & DPL are both 'Club Based' competitions where clubs will need to participate in all six age groups offered:  U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 & U19's.   We will each, Revolution FC & Livermore Fusion, form 3 teams within each of the EA & DPL.  Revolution FC will form the U13, U15 & U17 teams; Livermore Fusion will form the U14, U16 & U19 teams.  Revolution FC players from two age groups will play together under each of the U13, U15 & U17 teams.   We can and will form strong teams & create deeper player pools by combining two age groups together.

What is the combined club name of our EA/DPL partnership?  The combined partnership is called Cali Rise and we, both Revolution FC and Livermore Fusion, will wear Adidas kits and the Cali Rise badge for our EA/DPL games.  We will only wear this kit for these games.  Any games for Norcal Premier, ECNL-RL, State Cup or non-EA/DPL tournaments, our players will be in our Revolution FC kits.

Team Formation:   We will be forming teams for the EA/DPL through the training environment and group training.  For some age groups this has started, for others it will start this week or next week, and for some it will start when we return from our club break, the week of July 8th.  We will be forming teams for EA/DPL with rosters of 20-22 players.  Both leagues allow rosters up to 30 players, so throughout the year we will continue to evaluate all our players and if we see a player who deserves to be added to the roster we will look to place him/her in that environment.   We will also look to move someone out of the 20-22 player pool if their commitment or playing level is such that they should not be included.

Player Selection Process:   This will be a collaborative process between the age group Blue team coaches and the Technical Staff, which is made up of Sal Acevedo, Duane Glinton, Tom Ginocchio, Jesus Gomez, & Mike Rainsford.   We will be looking at serious players who are committed to playing high level soccer.  We will be looking not just for the top 20-22 players within two age groups, but also positional needs to form the teams.

Game Day Rosters:  We are allowed to suit up 18 on Game Day and we will be selected by the Head Coach, with input from the Asst. Coach and Technical Staff.

Where will home games be played:  All our home games will be played at Robertson Park in Livermore.   Games will be back to back with all three games played on the same day.  Times and Games dates are still TBD.

Where can I find more information on both leagues?   Here are links to each leagues website:

As we learn more we will provide information, including the game schedule and EA/DPL tournament schedules.
